A few years ago I started a line of "leafware", or leaf-patterned pottery. "Leafware" came to be when I did some pottery a few years ago for the Ansel Adams gallery in Yosemite National Park. My leafware is often stoneware, but sometimes I do a more colorful version of it in earthenware. Both types of pottery are lead-free, and safe for food use. When I work in stoneware, I like to make colorful designs, but sometimes use a more limited color scheme, like a simple cobalt blue on porcelain. |
