Seal your mouth around the narrow end of the ocarina body and blow gently to plump out the sides. Use a piece of clay to plug the opening.
Set the ocarina body out in the air to firm up for about 15-30 minutes.

After the clay has stiffened, cut the ocarina body lengthwise into 2 pieces. Avoid cutting along the seam lines (indicated by the arrows).

Make a flat area in one of the pieces. Pull out walls to round them. Pinch the narrow end into a point.

The two pieces may no longer fit together properly. Hold then against each other and gently press the cut edges as close together as possible. Do not worry about small gaps, for they will be filled in later when the two piece are permanently joined.
Store in a plastic bag and set aside until needed.
