How to Make a Clay Sweet Potato Ocarina

The seams will be raised, so use your thumb to smooth and flatten them.

Use the frosting knife or paint stirring stick (tool #10) to paddle the clay to further smooth it.

Leave the clay (with the mold still inside) out in the air for about 15-20 minutes to stiffen up.
Then, use the fettling knife (tool #4) to cut the clay off the mold. Make the cut lengthwise.

Remove the clay from off the mold.
If you did not build a flat bottom into the mold, make a flat area in one of the pieces.
Store in a plastic bag and set aside until needed.
